Finally went to see the Watchmen movie tonight. It only got 2 stars in the 03 magazine so I was cautious. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it very much and thought it stayed fairly true to the comic.
But, it was a little slow in places and I can see how it might not appeal to non-comic fans. Also, while I may have grown up with the spectre of nuclear annihilation, it is less relevant to the youth of today - crap I'm starting to sound like the old man I am.

Dark Knight
Just been to see the Dark Knight. Keep wanting to add a Returns to that. The comic book genre really has grown up with this one. Outstanding performances from pretty much everyone, not just Heath Ledger, although his Joker is outstanding. This is the movie I wanted to see when I went to see the first Batman movie.
It seems to draw heavily on some of the best Batman comics from recent years, including Dark Knight Returns, The Long Halloween, Dark Victory and Killing Joke. If you liked the movie and haven't read any of these, I think you might enjoy them.
If this is what we can expect from upcoming comic book movies, then I for one will be very happy - even if the movies themselves might be a bit bleak.

Too damn busy
Not a good idea to start a blog when you are just about to go on holiday and have a shitload of work to finish by the weekend. So don't expect this to be updated anytime soon.
